GWD1435 – 14 x 35mm Supporting Bar for Thin-Profile Canvas Frames

GWD1435 14 x 35mm pine wooden Supporting Bars for thin-profile canvas frame

A canvas stretcher frame may need internal reinforcement even when the outer Stretcher Bar profile has been selected correctly. GWD1435 is a 14 x 35mm kiln-dried pine Supporting Bar designed for canvas frames using thinner or shallower outer Stretcher Bar profiles when additional internal support is required. It is fitted inside the wooden frame and is not automatically required for every frame.

The Supporting Bar specification should be confirmed together with the finished frame dimensions, outer Stretcher Bar profile, canvas specification, stretching tension, support layout and final application. GWD1435 belongs to Gowin’s Supporting Bars & Bespoke Profiles range.

Supporting Bar Features

14 x 35mm Internal Profile

GWD1435 has a 14mm thickness and 35mm width. The profile is positioned within the outer frame so that it can reinforce the internal structure without serving as a canvas-contacting outer member.

Cut-to-Length Supply

The supporting bar can be cut to match the required internal span. Please provide the complete frame dimensions and outer stretcher-bar profile so that the support length and connection details can be checked together.

Connection and Assembly

The connection and assembly method should be confirmed according to the complete frame structure during sampling.

Recommended Use

  • Canvas frames using thinner or shallower outer Stretcher Bar profiles
  • Frame structures requiring additional mid-span support
  • Repeat canvas-frame production with a confirmed internal span and support layout

GWD1435 provides an internal support option for thinner-profile canvas frame structures when reinforcement is required. Please provide the outer Stretcher Bar profile, finished frame dimensions and intended support layout before confirmation.

How GWD1435 Works in the Stretcher Frame

GWD1435 is installed between the outer Stretcher Bars to support the open span inside the frame. The connection and assembly method, position and orientation should be confirmed according to the complete frame structure.

  • Single support: one Supporting Bar across the frame.
  • Parallel supports: two or more Supporting Bars running parallel inside the frame.
  • Cross-brace arrangement: Supporting Bars arranged in crossing directions.
  • Multiple supports: three or more Supporting Bars used where the complete frame requires additional internal support.

A Supporting Bar is the internal component; a cross-brace arrangement describes one possible layout using Supporting Bars.

As a general starting point, internal support should normally be considered when the long side reaches approximately 60cm. The actual configuration depends on the complete frame structure. A frame may use one Supporting Bar, two or more parallel Supporting Bars, a cross-brace arrangement, or multiple Supporting Bars where additional internal support is required.

Supporting Bar Selection

Confirm the supporting structure as a system rather than selecting a brace from profile size alone.

Selection CheckWhy It Matters
Finished frame dimensionsDetermines the internal span and the support layout that needs evaluation.
Outer stretcher-bar profileAffects the available connection space and end-machining requirement.
Canvas specificationProvides the canvas and stretching information needed to evaluate the complete assembled frame.
Stretching tensionChanges the structural demand placed on the assembled frame.
Support layoutConfirms whether the frame needs a single support, parallel supports, a cross-brace arrangement or multiple supports.
Final applicationConnects the support choice to the actual canvas product and production method.

These products should not be treated as interchangeable from the model number or profile size alone. Confirm the outer frame, end machining, internal span and intended support layout before ordering. The broader wooden stretcher bar range provides the outer profiles used with a complete frame system.

Ordering and Customization

Please provide the finished frame sizes, outer Stretcher Bar profile or model, canvas specification, quantities of each frame size and the Supporting Bar layout if it is already specified. This information allows the internal span, cut length and machining details to be confirmed before production.

If you do not already have a fixed Supporting Bar layout, the required configuration can be discussed according to the complete frame requirement. Supporting Bars are normally specified together with the complete Stretcher Bar or canvas-frame requirement, and their quantity follows the required frame sizes and Supporting Bar configuration. Cut-to-length supply and OEM or private-label packing can be confirmed according to the order.

Wood, Production and Quality Information

GWD1435 uses the same pine wood and production basis as Gowin’s outer Stretcher Bar range. The pine is kiln-dried and smooth-sanded, with finger-jointed construction used where applicable. Dimensional control, straightness checks, surface finishing, cut length and confirmed machining details are managed according to the approved order.

Before repeat production, the supporting bar should be checked inside the intended outer frame rather than approved as an isolated wooden component. This confirms the internal span, connection method and clearance within the assembled structure.

Packing and Export Supply

Export-standard carton or pallet packing can be arranged. OEM and private-label packing are available, with packing and labeling requirements confirmed according to the order.

EXW is available. FOB can be discussed according to the order and shipment arrangement, while DDP or door-to-door delivery can be discussed according to the destination and order conditions.

Sample and Structure Confirmation

Samples are available. For a useful approval test, assemble the sample supporting bar with the intended outer stretcher bars and stretch the actual canvas under your normal production conditions. Check the support length, connection, clearance and complete frame structure before confirming bulk production.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is GWD1435 an outer stretcher bar?

No. GWD1435 is an internal supporting bar used inside a wooden canvas stretcher frame. It is not the outer member over which the canvas is stretched.

What are the GWD1435 profile dimensions?

GWD1435 measures 14 x 35mm, equivalent to 1.4 x 3.5cm.

Is GWD1435 matched to a specific outer stretcher-bar model?

No specific outer model is confirmed for GWD1435. Provide the outer profile, internal span and connection requirement so compatibility can be checked before production.

When should I consider adding a supporting bar?

As a general starting point, internal support should normally be considered when the long side reaches approximately 60cm. The actual configuration depends on the complete frame dimensions, outer profile, canvas specification, stretching tension and application.

Can GWD1435 be supplied in custom lengths?

Yes. GWD1435 can be cut to the required internal span. Confirm the finished frame dimensions and connection method before ordering.

How many Supporting Bars does a frame need?

The quantity depends on the actual frame. A frame may use one Supporting Bar, two or more parallel Supporting Bars, a cross-brace arrangement or multiple supports. Confirm the layout from the complete frame requirement rather than applying one fixed quantity to every size.
