GW1838 – 18 x 38mm Standard Wooden Stretcher Bar
GW1838 is an 18 x 38mm pine wooden Stretcher Bar for standard-profile canvas-frame production. It is an outer frame component used to form the perimeter over which the canvas is stretched, and it belongs to Gowin’s Standard Wooden Stretcher Bars range.
The profile can be supplied in tenoned or non-tenoned structures, with lengths up to 300cm. Before ordering, confirm the finished frame sizes, required bar lengths, canvas specification, assembly method and packing requirements so the complete frame specification can be reviewed together.

Product Features
18 x 38mm Standard Profile
GW1838 has an 18mm profile thickness and a 38mm width. These two dimensions should be considered together with the finished frame size, canvas specification, stretching tension, internal support requirement and final application.
Tenoned and Non-Tenoned Options
For standard tenoned bars, the four frame sides are normally assembled by fitting the machined corner joints together, so conventional frame nailing is generally not required for basic assembly. Additional reinforcement may still be used depending on the complete frame structure and application.
Non-tenoned bars can be supplied when you have your own tenoning machinery or intend to use direct-nailing frame assembly. Confirm the required structure before sampling and quotation.
Assembly Fit Confirmation
Corner fit can be confirmed during sampling according to the customer’s intended assembly method and frame-production requirements.
Recommended Applications
- Stretched canvas production
- Printed canvas and photo canvas frames
- Decorative wall art
- Standard-profile canvas-frame programs
- Wholesale and private-label canvas-frame production
How to Evaluate the 18 x 38mm Profile
Profile selection should begin with the complete finished product rather than one dimension alone. Review the full frame size range, canvas material, expected stretching method, side-profile presentation, assembly process and packing limits before confirming GW1838.
For dimensional reference, the GW1840S profile measures 18 x 40mm. It has the same listed 18mm thickness as GW1838 and is 2mm wider. Confirm the required size against your frame drawing, existing sample or complete frame specification.
Internal Support Guidance
As a general starting point, internal support should normally be considered when the long side reaches approximately 60cm. This is general guidance rather than a fixed engineering rule, and it does not mean that every frame at this size requires one Supporting Bar.
The actual internal support requirement depends on the finished frame dimensions, outer profile, canvas specification, stretching tension, planned support layout and final application. If you already use a specific support profile or frame drawing, include it for confirmation before production.
Ordering, Lengths and Customization
Lengths and Order Quantities
GW1838 can be supplied in lengths up to 300cm. For quotation, provide the required length list and quantity for each size. The standard MOQ is 1,000 pcs per size, although a lower quantity may be discussed according to the composition and total quantity of the complete order.
Structure and OEM Requirements
Please confirm whether you require tenoned bars for fitted-corner assembly or non-tenoned bars for your own machining or direct-nailing process. Assembly fit, packing and labeling requirements can be confirmed according to the order.
If you require a profile that differs from GW1838, provide a profile drawing or physical sample together with the required lengths and estimated quantities. Feasibility, sampling and MOQ can then be confirmed.
Wood, Production and Quality
GW1838 follows the general pine-wood and production basis used for Gowin’s wooden Stretcher Bars. The wood is kiln-dried before machining, and finger-jointed construction is used where applicable.
During production, we check profile dimensions, straightness, surface sanding, joint fit and packing condition. Regular pine may include slight sound knots. If a cleaner appearance or different wood-grade requirement is needed, confirm it before sampling and quotation.
Packing and Export Supply
OEM and private-label packing are available. Packing and labeling requirements can be confirmed according to the bar lengths, quantities, corner structure and shipping method.
For full-container orders, FOB terms can be discussed; otherwise, supply is normally based on EXW terms. DDP or door-to-door delivery can also be discussed according to the destination and order requirements.
Sample and Profile Confirmation
Samples are available. Before bulk production, confirm the 18 x 38mm profile together with the intended canvas, frame size and assembly method so the complete frame specification can be evaluated.
For sample and quotation preparation, please provide:
- Finished frame sizes
- Required bar lengths and quantities by size
- Canvas specification and stretching method
- Tenoned or non-tenoned structure
- Internal support requirement, if already known
- Packing requirements and destination
