Deep Profile Stretcher Bars
Gowin’s Deep Profile Stretcher Bar range currently includes three pine wooden outer-bar models for B2B canvas-frame production, wholesale supply and private-label programs. Available profiles use 25mm or 38mm thicknesses and 25mm or 35mm widths, stated consistently as thickness × width.
Deep Profile Stretcher Bars are used when a canvas-frame specification requires greater visible frame depth than Gowin’s Standard range. Gallery wrap is an important application because the canvas continues around the visible sides of the frame, but it is an application rather than the name of the product range. Samples are available to confirm the profile, corner structure and assembly fit before production.

The three current models are outer Stretcher Bars used to form the perimeter of the canvas frame. Compare the nominal dimensions and confirmed profile notes first, then review the complete frame specification before selecting a model.

Compare the Profile Dimensions
Gowin states Stretcher Bar dimensions as thickness × width. GW2535 and GW3835G both have a 35mm width, while their thicknesses are 25mm and 38mm. GW3835G and GW3825X both have a 38mm thickness, while their widths are 35mm and 25mm.
GW2535 can also be compared with the GW2035 profile in the Standard Wooden Stretcher Bars range. Both have a 35mm width, while GW2535 is 25mm thick and GW2035 is 20mm thick. These are dimensional comparisons only; the complete frame specification remains necessary for product selection.
How to Select a Deep Profile
Thickness alone does not determine the appropriate profile. Confirm the complete frame specification, including:
- Finished frame dimensions
- Required visible frame depth
- Complete outer-bar cross-section or profile
- Canvas specification or weight
- Stretching tension
- Assembly method
- Internal-support layout
- Final application
- Packing requirements
When matching an existing canvas-frame product, provide a technical drawing with complete cross-section dimensions or a physical sample. Nominal thickness and width may not identify every detail of the required profile.
Deep Profile Stretcher Bars for Gallery Wrap Canvas
In gallery-wrap construction, the canvas continues around the visible sides of the frame and is fixed at the back. The outer Stretcher Bar profile therefore determines the visible side depth of the finished canvas frame.
A Deep Profile model can be considered when your gallery-wrap canvas, photo-canvas frame or decorative canvas program requires a deeper outer Stretcher Bar profile. Compare the available 25mm- and 38mm-thick profiles, then confirm the complete cross-section, canvas, corner structure and finished frame size during sampling.
Supporting Bars for the GW3835G Frame System
GW3835G has two confirmed internal Supporting Bar profile options. Both are fitted inside the GW3835G outer frame when the completed frame specification requires internal support; neither is an outer Stretcher Bar.

There is no fixed rule assigning either profile to a particular frame size. Supporting Bar profile selection and Supporting Bar quantity or layout are separate decisions. Depending on the complete frame requirement, the frame may use no Supporting Bar, one or more Supporting Bars, parallel supports or a cross-brace arrangement.
As a general starting point, evaluate the need for internal support when the long side reaches approximately 60cm. This is not a mandatory threshold. Final support requirements depend on the complete frame dimensions, outer profile, canvas specification or weight, stretching tension, support layout and final application. Material, Assembly and Production
Pine Wood and Production Checks
The three current Deep Profile models are made from pine wood. The wood is kiln-dried before machining, finger-jointed construction is used where applicable, and the surfaces are smooth-sanded. During production, Gowin checks profile dimensions, straightness, surface sanding, corner fit and packing condition.
Regular pine may include slight sound knots. If your program requires a cleaner appearance or a different wood grade, confirm the requirement before sampling and quotation.
Tenoned and Non-Tenoned Options
Tenoned and non-tenoned structures are available. Tenoned bars use machined corner joints for fitted-corner frame assembly. Non-tenoned bars can be supplied when you have your own tenoning machinery or intend to use direct-nailing assembly. Corner fit can be confirmed during sampling according to your assembly method and frame-production requirements.
GW2535, GW3835G and GW3825X have a maximum listed supply length of up to 300cm. Required bar lengths and quantities should be confirmed for each size.

Custom Deep Profile Development
Gowin’s current range includes 20 existing Stretcher Bar and Supporting Bar profiles covering many common market requirements, but your project is not limited to these profiles. Gowin can review a special thickness or width, a different cross-section or profile shape, an existing-product match, or another customer-specific profile.
Provide a technical drawing with complete cross-section dimensions or a physical sample for matching. Custom development remains subject to technical feasibility, sample confirmation, MOQ or order requirements and agreed tooling conditions. A new profile may require a mould/tooling charge, which is normally refundable after the agreed formal production order is placed, subject to the agreed order conditions.

What does Deep Profile mean?
Within Gowin’s current range, Deep Profile identifies outer Stretcher Bars with greater frame depth or thickness than the Standard range. The complete cross-section and finished frame specification should still be confirmed.
Are Deep Profile Stretcher Bars the same as Heavy Duty Stretcher Bars?
No. Deep Profile and Heavy Duty are separate Gowin product ranges. Greater thickness alone does not classify a Stretcher Bar as Heavy Duty.
Can Deep Profile bars be used for gallery-wrap canvas?
Yes. They can be used when a gallery-wrap canvas specification requires one of the available Deep Profile dimensions. Confirm the full profile, frame size, canvas and assembly structure before production.
